Welcome to J.Rinaldi Photography.
My name is Javier Rinaldi, Jav for short.
I'm a mechanical engineer and longtime aspiring photographer living in Newport, RI.

I began my photographic career in 1998, after many years of admiring photos in magazines such as my dad's collection of National Geographic.
The first time I held a camera, a Minolta SRT-101, it was a very natural feeling, I knew this was something I wanted to do. Many years later I purchased my own SRT-101 and over the past 10 years I have enjoyed learning this craft, creating images and refining my photographic eye

It was a long time dream of mine, even back in my slide film days, to someday have a website to showcase my work, it was a joyous day when I finally was able to create this page and share my passion with the world.
Part of my dream was also to become, at least in my eyes, a professional photographer. I have made great strides towards this dream in the past couple of years, and it's my hope to one day publish my work, to that end I have made available in this page most of my work, as well as a portfolio of images available for print.
